Being wrong does not mean that you are a loser, in fact, it just means that you have something to learn. If you think about mistakes as a bad thing, then you are out of your mind. The way that we view the things hat happen to us is a testament of who we are. If your character is that you cannot learn from your mistakes, then you are doomed. I hope that you learn from your mistakes, I really do.
Have you ever pondered how long eternity is? Perhaps one could get a slight glimpse of eternity if he would try to calculate the value of every leaf that has ever grown on every plant and tree since creation and multiply that huge number times 10, Much more needs to be considered. To that we should next multiply 10, times every grain of sand along all of the seashores and coastlines throughout the entire world. To this we then should add the value produced by multiplying 10, times every snowflake and raindrop that ever fell from the creation of the world. But then this is still much too small a number! To that we should multiply 10, times every dust molecule that has ever floated in the air that is far too small for us see with the naked eye.
Few figures like the one of Kelley have been able to embody and reflect that multitude of signs and visions, which are the sediment of the American culture made of remains, interstitial spaces, vernacular aptitudes and secret traces apparently impossible to map. Who overlooks his work, even only superficially, knows the cult allure surrounding his figure and his ability to surf on different languages that connect different artists crosswise, from masters as Paul Thek and David Askevold to the companions of the road as John Miller , Tony Oursler and Paul McCarty , to the indie rock music of Sonic Youth and the noise of Morton Subotnick or the Destroy All Monsters. Eternity Is A Long Time is a great exhibition thought specifically for Hangar Bicocca and curated by Emi Fontana and Andrea Lissoni , which celebrates, after one year since his passing, the absolute centrality of the artist on the contemporary art scene.
