Famous Poems About Death - "When I Am Gone" Funeral Poem
Letting Go Of The Past
I have noticed a trend in my assigned reading. The theme of my English class is love—I chose this theme because at the very least, year-olds care about sex and death. The students usually notice this about three weeks into the semester. They joke, but inevitably, each student finds that at least one of these heartbreak poems resonates with them. I hope that among this selection, you find something.
Love is a dynamic and changing emotion. Sometimes it grows and sometimes it fades. Moving on from a relationship or marriage, leaving behind a past love, or pursuing a new fling can be scary, uncertain, and difficult. However, the prospect of change and new experiences can also be exciting and a time for discovery. Focusing on the opportunities and experiences ahead rather than dwelling in past memories can help us to move forwards. Our lives are in flux in every experience and moment, and letting go, no matter how difficult, is an important part of that process. I don't hate you, Because I still love you.

When I first looked into your eyes you swept me off my feet. Whenever I was by your side it made me feel complete. The first time that I saw you smile the world felt so surreal, And when your held my hand in your my heart learned how to feel. My strength was of men. My knees, they felt so weak.
